Class Descriptions

Mixed Age

Mixed age classes are designed for children birth through 5 with a caregiver.  Adults and children participate through song, dance and rhythm instruments in a fun and exploratory environment.  The mixed-age format is not only educationally sound but creates a family-like atmosphere where siblings can attend class together. Older children learn from being in a leadership role, while younger children benefit from the example of the older child. Children of the same age are not necessarily in the same stage of music development. A mixed-age format enables them to participate freely and experience the music at their own level of complexity, without being burdened by age-specific expectations.

Faith Inclusive Mixed Age

Mixed age classes are designed for children birth through 5 with a caregiver.  Classes held at  St. Mary's are supported by the Music Ministry and incorporate a touch of liturgical music into the Music Together® program. Adults and children participate through song, dance, and rhythm instruments in a fun and exploratory environment. You do not need to be a parishioner of St. Mary's, nor a member of the Roman Catholic church to join us for this fun-filled music program.

Babies

The Music Together Babies class, for families with infants from birth through 8 months who are not yet walking, is a one-semester introduction to Music Together and to early childhood music development. After this one semester, the family is prepared to enroll in a mixed-age class. The music activities in a Babies class are specifically designed to teach parents how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with their infants through music, using concepts like “purposeful touch,” “sound layering,” and “dancing for baby.” Babies classes use the same collection as Mixed-Age classes, enabling a seamless transition for families between class programs.

Drop-In Class

Drop-in classes are a great way to spend a special day making memories with your favorite little music maker. Drop-in classes are $25 for the first child, $15 for 1st sibling, and $5 for additional siblings.  If you decide to join us for a full session, the cost of your drop-in will be credited toward the current session's tuition.

Mini Sessions

Introducing our NEW Interim Mini Sessions—perfect for when you can’t commit to a full session or just want more of our magical music classes! These shorter sessions are just as fun and engaging as our main Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions, and feature a great mix of Music Together® favorites. Designed for children from infancy through age 5 in a traditional mixed-age setting, each Mini Session includes a mini songbook and a download code so you can enjoy the music anytime, anywhere.
